| Elwood finishes off Stewartsville (MO); puts cap on week four

ELWOOD – In a long line of games postponed last Friday night due to weather, the Elwood Panthers had to wait until Monday to finish off the Stewartsville Cardinals 52-42. The game was suspended at the half on Friday with Elwood leading 30-22.
Sterwartsville started Monday's scoring with a Dakota Dunlap 27-yard run to make the score 30-28.
The Panthers answered with a 39-yard Jeron Goodwin run to build a 10-point lead, 38-28.
The Cardinals weren’t done, however, as quarterback Ryan Graef got loose from 39 yards to tighten the gap to 38-36 at the end of three quarters.
Stewartsville took the lead in the fourth quarter when Andrew Hummel recovered a fumble in the end zone to give the Cardinals a 42-38 lead.
Elwood answered again as Blake Wilson added touchdown runs of 65 yards and 1-yard, his third and fourth scores of the night, to give the Panthers the 52-42 win.
Elwood improves to 2-2 on the season and will begin district play this week at Wakefield (2-2).
