The Kansas Football Coaches Association picked their All-State teams on December 4th and 5th, including the All-Class Top 11. Kansas Pregame is providing capsules for each of the Top 11 selections. Check out Piper offensive and defensive lineman Camden Beebe's capsule below, the eighth of the KFBCA Top 11 capsules for 2022.

The Piper Pirates put together a 7-4 record in head coach John Black’s first season with the team, with much of that success driven by the play of their offensive and defensive lines, both of which were led by senior Camden Beebe.

The admittedly “nasty” lineman was coming off an All-State season as a junior and came back strong as a senior with another All-State nod, bullying opponents along the way.

“Camden is very physical and drives people off the ball,” Black said. “His goal every play is to put someone on the ground. He usually drives people out of the hole.”

As a four-year starter, Beebe has learned to mix his aggressive nature on the field with leadership, which was equally as important as his incredible play in the trenches.

“Everyone follows Camden's lead on everything,” Black said. “He breaks us down before every game and everyone listens to him and looks to him for guidance. We had a very good season so that should be a good indication how his leadership affected our team.”

Piper managed a 5-2 record in their first year in the United Kansas Conference and upset undefeated Chanute in the second round of the 4A state playoffs, winning 48-47 in double-OT.

“He was a very good player,” Chanute head coach Clete Frazell said. “We noticed on film he was going to be hard to move on their defensive front and that they were going to run behind him in the run game on offense. He was a factor in the game and played the game with pride and intensity. I am excited to see how he develops at Kansas State.”

The Pirates season came to an end in the quarterfinals against eventual state champs Bishop Miege.

Prior to his senior season Beebe made the decision to commit to Kansas State University, despite the interest from other major Division I programs in the three-star offensive lineman.

The 6-3, 315 pound senior is a member of the 29th ranked recruiting class nationally, according to 247 Sports, and will join his brother Cooper Beebe, a junior starting offensive lineman for the Big XII Champion K-State team set to play in the Sugar Bowl against Alabama on New Year’s Eve, unless the older Beebe decides to make the jump to the NFL.

Cooper was also a four-year starter and All-Stater on the line for Piper, and the two brothers come from a family of football standouts. Their father, Tom, played football at Pittsburg State, while their oldest brother, Colton, played tight end for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

The younger Beebe’s pedigree, in-game approach, and full-time work ethic fit perfectly for the blue collar, Chris Klieman led Wildcats, based on his time at Piper.

“This offseason there were times that I would say we were done conditioning and Cam would say we have one more,” Black said. “That is the kind of thing you want to have your players saying and promoting.”

Black said Beebe’s presence will certainly be missed next fall.

“His physicality is going to be missed on the O-line and D-line for sure. I am sure our running backs will miss seeing some huge holes when we are running inside. It was nice to be able to run to our left when we needed a play.”
