Santa Fe Trail High School has announced the hiring of Trent Robb as the new social studies teacher and boys head wrestling coach. Robb brings a wealth of experience and a passion for cultivating student-athletes both on and off the mat.

A former collegiate wrestler, Robb competed at Neosho County Community College, where he was a two-time NJCAA national qualifier, and at Bethany College, where he continued to excel in the sport. He began his coaching career as a high school assistant coach for six years before stepping into a head coaching role for the past three years.

During his tenure at Perry-Lecompton High School, Robb demonstrated his ability to elevate wrestling programs. Under his leadership, the boys program grew from 12 to 23 wrestlers, and the girls program expanded from two to 13 athletes, including the school’s first-ever state finalist and placer on the girls side.

“I’m thrilled to join the Santa Fe Trail community,” Robb said. “Thank you for the opportunity to lead such a tremendous program with a storied history. I look forward to a great year and can’t wait to get to work.”

Robb’s mission as a coach is clear: “To inspire and develop the next generation of fathers, mothers, and coaches AND fanatically pursue excellence on the mat.”

"Through our search for the next head wrestling coach and teacher at Santa Fe Trail High School, Coach Robb checked all the boxes we were looking for. He is a passionate teacher and coach who wants the best for all his student-athletes. Everyone we contacted talked about how teaching and coaching wrestling is Coach Robb's passion," said athletic director Kris Henry. "We are thrilled to have Coach Robb join us and add to the legacy at Santa Fe Trail."

Beyond his accomplishments in competition, Robb is committed to fostering a culture of discipline, academic success, and community involvement.

Santa Fe Trail High School is proud to welcome Coach Robb and looks forward to the positive impact he will have on its student-athletes and the wrestling program.
