KWCA announces annual award winners

On Sunday, the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association Executive Board met at McPherson High School to finalize the 2020 award winners who will be recognized Oct. 3 at the KWCA "Fritz Knorr" Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet in Salina.

Chanute wins 4A State

SALINA, KS — Over 200 wrestlers from 52 different schools arrived in Salina this weekend for the KSHSAA 4A Wrestling Championships. This year also marked the first KSHSAA sanctioned girls championship tournament in the state.

Another year of State wrestling in the books

The state of Kansas crowned wrestling champions Feb. 27-29. The action started Thursday with the first ever girls KSHSAA All-Class State Championship in Salina. The boys continued the action Friday and Saturday with classes at separate sites across the state.

Girls wrestling set to take center stage in Salina

Tony’s Pizza Events Center in Salina is set to host the first KSHSAA Girls Wrestling State Championship on Thursday. Find a schedule for the day here. Find a link to Track Wrestling's results from the tournament here. Only one school will claim the inaugural state championship.

Regional wrestling updates, links to statewide coverage

Regional wrestling tournaments kicked off across Kansas Friday afternoon and continue Saturday with hundreds of wrestlers battling for a coveted trip to the state tournament. Find brackets and coverage from trackwrestling.

Class 1A Regional brackets now online

Kansas' 1A schools are divided geographically into four areas/groups. Each group will have four regional tournaments with the same number of schools insofar as possible. There are 108 schools participating so there will be 4 regionals of 27 teams. Each regional will have 6 or 7 schools assigned.
