KWCA weekly rankings

Bennington basketball has been through the ringer already this season, playing in the Heart of America league with five consistently ranked teams and a group of squads from top-to-bottom capable of beating anyone on any given night.
Sitting currently at 14-3 and ranked sixth in KBCA polls, the Bulldogs are coming off of back-to-back nail biters on Thursday and Friday of last week, followed by another ranked contest against Ell-Saline Tuesday night.

Prior to this season’s tipoff, Campus was already hyped as one of the top teams in the state, despite winning just seven games last season.
Although they possessed a talented roster, the Colts were fairly young and simply didn’t have many games go their way. But given the senior duo of Andrell Burton and Kaason Thomas headlining a now experienced supporting cast, it appeared they had the ability to vault far past their 2022-23 result heading into this season.
To those who made that prediction, you were spot on.

Here's our best guess at the rankings after significant team and schedule research as well as consultation with coaches and media from across the state. A reminder, this is just for fun. Fortunately, sub-state and state tournaments will determine who the best team is in each classification in March and not rankings.
*Games Thursday night have likely already impacted these rankings and we've added a few notes about those results, and a mention of Friday night's key games, below each corresponding classification.

Life comes full circle sometimes. When it happens in the great fraternity of Kansas high school football coaches, it can take on a whole new meaning.
Longtime Kansas high school football coaching giants Ken Stonebraker and Chuck Porter will be inducted this December in the Kansas Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. A culmination of years of molding young men into men after their paths first crossed in early 1985.
