The 83rd annual Scott City Relays were ran in near perfect weather conditions Tuesday and the Beavers repeated as boys' champions in the event. The Phillipsburg Panthers outpaced Hoisington for the girls' team title.

Update: Another meet, another record for spring covergirl Madison Lueger.
Marysville Advocate sportswriter Julie Perry reported earlier this week that the Centralia senior extended her school record in the javelin yet again, this time throwing 157-2 at Tuesday's meet at Nemaha Central. According to track historian Carol Swenson's list this puts Lueger in 12th place all-time in Kansas, just ahead of Paola's Elizabeth Pomatto who threw 156-11 last season.

Wabaunsee High School's Abby Oliver continued her amazing senior athletics season by winning the Flint Hills Optimist Club All-Star Game MVP after her Red Team defeated the Blue Team 66-62 Saturday night in Emporia. Oliver, a Washburn basketball commit and standout volleyball and softball player, scored 22 points in the win.

In early March, 13 of the state’s top spring sports athletes gathered at the new Sharp Performance gym in downtown Salina to take part in the cover shoot for this all new magazine.
Each athlete is profiled inside the magazine as part of the “Spring Revival” feature.
The publication also includes dozens of team previews, features on a number of the top athletes in Kansas and a few surprises.
Also earning plaques and medals were the McPherson and St. Thomas Aquinas girls. Bonner Springs and Lawrence Free State boys and Liberal girls earned certificates.

Blue Valley Northwest won their third straight 6A Championship with a 53-41 victory over Washburn Rural. The Huskies got 17 points and 10 rebounds from Mike Peake while Christian Braun added 16 points and 10 boards. Wichita Southeast downed Shawnee Mission South in the third place game led by sophomore Jackie Johnson's 33 points, including six of 11 three-pointers.
