After an exciting opening week of high school football in Kansas I think we're all ready for Week 2! The week actually got started with a number of games Thursday night, with several of those postponed until this afternoon or Saturday because of weather delays including notable games between Blue Valley/Blue Valley North and Frontenac/Colgan. Blue Valley was leading North 14-7 when the game was postponed and was scheduled to resume in the second half at 3 p.m. Friday.

If you blink, you may in fact miss Sheridan Rodriguez. The multi-sport athlete, who plays both volleyball and track, spends time between practice, class and sleep, working at Ross in Garden City.

Rodriguez’s obsession with perfection explains a lot of things, like her 4.0 GPA. Away from the classroom, she finished second in the high jump during the 2019 NJCAA Outdoor Nationals and was the Region VI champion.
