Last fall we welcomed just a sampling of the state’s top athletes to a feature photo shoot at Rolling Hills Zoo west of Salina. The Zoo and Wildlife Museum made a stunning backdrop for the shoot. It’s mid-season tournament time and that means some of the most exciting basketball of the year with rowdy crowds and exciting match-ups. That held true this week as several games across the state came down to the wire and ended on buzzer-beaters.

A basketball buzzer-beater is one of the most thrilling sequences in all of sport and we wanted to go straight to the players to find out what all goes into sealing a win with a final shot.

If you are the mother or father of a high school athlete here in Kansas, this message is primarily for you. 
 
When you attend an athletic event that involves your son or daughter, cheer to your heart’s content, enjoy the camaraderie that high school sports offer and have fun. But when it comes to verbally criticizing game officials or coaches, cool it.  
 

Kansas Pregame has partnered with the Kansas Football Coaches Association to provide capsules for their Top 11 and Coach of the Year picks. The team consists of 11 players and an overall Coach of the Year which were nominated from each classification's KFBCA All-State teams and voted on by coaches at the annual KFBCA All-State meeting December 9th in Wichita.
